Victory Marks KBS's Third Major Championship In Under A Year

KBS C-Taper shafts were trusted by the winner of the 2013 U.S. Open Championship. In a thrilling finish, this professional won his fourth tournament since switching into KBS shafts in 2011. In addition to the victory, KBS had the T2, T4 and T8 place finishes in Tour or C-Taper shafts. Thus far in 2013, KBS is the trusted shaft for both major champions.

The KBS team congratulates this professional for his first major championship victory. This player switched into C-Taper shafts after noticing an improved ball flight, distance gain and smoother feel. In fact, during his first practice round with the KBS C-Taper shaft, he holed out from the fairway for an eagle. Two weeks later, this professional won the 2011 BMW Championship by two strokes.

KBS is on a roll with Major Championships lately. Three of the past four majors trusted KBS shafts in their irons. In 2013, KBS has seen 10 professional wins worldwide.

Kim Braly, Director or Tour Operations and R&D said, “We are very excited for this professional and think this is only the beginning of his future victories at major championships. When he switched into the C-Taper shaft, his iron trajectory flattened out and we immediately noticed a reduced “ballooning” of the ball. A victory at Merion, where iron precision is so important, is a testament to the performance benefit of the KBS brand.”
