N.S. PRO MODUS3 VICTORY ON CHAMPIONS TOUR VICTORY AND A SOLO THIRD ON THE EUROPEAN TOUR

Nippon Shaft recorded a victory on the Champions Tour and finished in third place on the European Tour over the weekend.

At the Mississippi Gulf Coast Resort Classic, the 54-year-old champion used the N.S. PRO MODUS³ PROTOTYPE 980ST S flex to shoot an 11-under par total 205 on rounds of 70-68-67.  He was able to win by one stroke despite a bogey on the final hole.  His final round was highlighted by five consecutive birdies on the front nine of Fallen Oak Golf Club in Biloxi, Miss.

At the Maybank Malaysian Open, the 42-year-old native of Denmark played Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 steel shafts in his irons to tie for third place, two strokes behind the champion in the rain-shortened 54-hole event at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.  He finished in the top 10 on the European Tour once before this season, at Abu Dhabi.

“Nippon Shaft is proud that an increasing number of the world’s best players are using Nippon Shaft products to compete at the highest level,” said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.  “Nippon Shaft remains committed to designing and manufacturing high performance steel shafts that top players can rely upon under the most high-pressure circumstances.”

Nippon Shaft’s newest product is the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 130, which went on sale to the public on Feb. 1.  Nippon Shaft experts have spent years traveling with the PGA TOUR getting player feedback and input in order to develop shafts that fit the needs of high-level golfers as well as amateurs.
