In the same Australian event, a young English veteran of the European and PGA Tours finished in a tie for fifth, using the N.S. PRO MODUS3 ORA prototype steel shafts in his irons.
Meanwhile, on the LPGA, the winner was a 31-year-old Norwegian who used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 steel shafts in her irons while the second and third place finishers used N.S. PRO 950GH steel shafts in theirs.
On the PGA Tour, Nippon Shaft had two players in the top 10 at the McGladrey Classic at Sea Island Golf Club in southern Georgia. The native of Zimbabwe who finished tied for fourth used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 ORA prototype while the Englishman who tied for seventh used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 ST prototypes.
“Nippon Shaft is very proud to have some of the world’s greatest players utilizing our shafts at the highest level of competition all over the world,” said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are especially proud that these players are using four different shafts that we have developed for tour-level and better players over the last few years.”
Also this past week, the KBS C-Taper shaft was used by the winner of the World Golf Final exhibition event in Belek, Turkey. This professional has used the C-Taper S+ shaft throughout his irons and wedges for over a year, and recently won the 2012 WGC Cadillac Championship and 2011 BMW Championship. The C-Taper shaft is designed to produce a lower trajectory and less spin while maintaining a smooth all around feel.
Delivering the power of graphite and the stability of steel on pro tours, SteelFiber shafts have been the No. 1 composite irons shafts on the PGA TOUR for the past three consecutive years. Most recently, SteelFiber shafts won the TOUR Championship and the 2012 FedEx Cup title.
"With two Top 10 finishes on two tours in one weekend, it’s easy to see that the news about the unique playing benefits of composite shafts is spreading on the pro tours. Our SteelFiber composite technology combines the performance characteristics of graphite shafts which produce greater vibration dampening and less fatigue with those of steel shafts which provide more consistency." said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.
SteelFiber shafts set new company records during this 2012 PGA TOUR season. In addition to their second-straight Ryder Cup appearance, SteelFiber shafts won the 2012 FedEx Cup title, the TOUR Championship, The Players Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open and collected 21 Top 10 finishes on the PGA and Champions Tours.
This new Diamana™ features material from Mitsubishi Plastic Co. (DIALEAD™) and the latest curing (Tough-QURE™) advancements from Mitsubishi Rayon and our partners within the Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation (MCHC) Group. The new series of shafts utilizes Mitsubishi Rayon's new 3G M.D.I. technology to deliver the tour-proven performance and superior stability players of all abilities have come to expect from the Diamana™ brand.
In 2009 Mitsubishi Rayon introduced the original Multi-Dimensional Interlay (M.D.I.) Technology featured in the Diamana™ Kai'li™ Series - the second generation Blue Board. This M.D.I. Technology allows Mitsubishi Rayon to layer thin carbon fiber sheets in multiple directions along the entire length of the shaft, providing our engineers precise control over stiffness and stability throughout the shaft. This same M.D.I. technology was used in subsequent years to develop and launch the rest of the Second Generation Diamana™ Series, Diamana™ 'ilima™ in 2009 and Diamana™ 'ahina™ in 2010, and most recently to develop the Diamana +PLUS™ Series.
