I’m quite excited!

I shot my best ever gross today (73 against a par of 70). I know it was only the Friday morning roll up and off the yellow pots but I’ve never hit the ball so well and accurately from tee to green. My iron play (including the 5 hybrid) is finally getting close to the consistency of the driver you made for me. I also made some great putts for birdie, which I haven’t done very often in the past (my previous birdies have usually come from close approach shots or chip ins). My distance control and accuracy have both improved dramatically with the Seemore, it’s getting to the stage where I’m disappointed if I’m not holing or nearly holing the 20 footers whereas before I was almost relieved not to 3 putt.
I took a bit more care with the preparation today with my iron shots and there wasn’t a hint of them going off to the right. They all flew dead straight and it was only the quality of the strike that affected the outcome in terms of front to back dispersion.
Sorry I’ve gone on a bit but basically thank you so much, you’ve done a great job!

Regards,

25-30 yards further!!

After an op customer had a reshaft of his driver with an ACCRA Golf FX2 100 Series Shaft and his feedback after picking it up is... "admittedly early days but this afternoon's practice suggests the shaft is what was needed. The ball flies at or above 3 wood level, carries further and rolls out in total about 25-30 yards farther. If that converts on the course I will be delighted."

Alison Nicholas opts for Tour Edge Exotics

Alison was referred to us by another happy customer.  She wanted her new irons to be checked for the loft and lie angles but then got interested in the Tour Edge Exotics EXS range of wood and hybrids and decided to have a fitting with Melvyn to try them out.  She liked them so much she decided to go for a 3 wood and 2 hybrids fitted with the Accra FX2 100 shafts.  But then it was on to the putting mat and after some input on set up and use of the SeeMore Putter opted for the Platinum m7Tour fully milled blade.

Alison’s playing career in golf spanned from 1980 to 2004 claiming 18 Professional titles establishing herself as one of Europe’s most successful players.

Taking the game up rather late at the age of 17 did not deter her in the slightest. Within 4 years she had represented Yorkshire at county level and went on to win the 1983 British Stroke play Championship before turning professional in 1984.

Her breakthrough in the professional ranks came in 1987 winning the Weetabix Ladies British Open at St Mellion. Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s Alison was a regular winner on the Ladies European Tour.

After representing Europe in the inaugural Solheim Cup in 1990 Alison was encouraged to play in America and take on the best in the world. Improving her technique under the watchful eye of Lawrence Farmer proved successful and in 1995 she won her first Tournament in America.

The highlight of her playing career was to come two years later when she was crowned 1997 US Open Champion when she held off golfing legend Nancy Lopez to win her first major. Following this success Alison was awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to women’s golf.

The Solheim Cup

Alison’s career has been in entwined with the Solheim Cup. Having represented Europe six times, with memorable victories in 1992, 2000 and 2003 Alison has also been heavily involved in role of Vice Captain (2003 & 2005) and Captain (2009 & 2011).

The events at Killeen Castle in September 2011 saw Alison captain the European Team to a dramatic and memorable victory over the Americans. The 15 – 13 win by Europe has been described as one of the greatest matches in the history of golf.
