NIPPON SHAFT WINS QATAR MASTERS IN A PLAYOFF
A Nippon Shaft player using the company’s N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 steel shafts with an X flex in his irons fired a flawless final round and won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters over the weekend on the third hole of a sudden death playoff.

The champion 34-year-old Spaniard fired a spectacular final round 7-under par 65 to finish at 16-under for the tournament then made three straight birdies in the playoff (all on the 18th hole) while his opponent could only manage a par.

His 11th European PGA Tour title moved him into the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking, where he now sits at No. 9.  His last victory came in December at the Thailand Golf Championship, but his most recent European Tour win was in 2011.

“Nippon Shaft is very proud to be the preferred steel shaft of one of the world’s best players,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for the Japanese club maker.  “He seems to feel very comfortable with his MODUS3 Tour 130 steel shafts, and we wish him continued success.”
KBS Wins Farmers Insurance Open
KBS Shafts won its first PGA Tour event of 2014 at The Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines on Sunday. Trusting the KBS TOUR 130g shaft in his irons and wedges, this professional shot a 4-under 68 to win by one stroke. After switching into KBS shafts in the fall of 2013, he has improved his FedEx Cup standings from 166th to 10th.

The KBS TOUR is Kim Braly's signature shaft and is ideal for players desiring shot versatility and mid trajectory. Incorporating unique KBS technology, the KBS TOUR maximizes energy transfer for increased shot control. The KBS TOUR offers a smooth, responsive feel and is the preferred model by several of the best golfers in the world.

"This professional first put the KBS C-TAPER shaft in play in the fall of 2013 and recently switched into the KBS TOUR shaft for better workability and a more preferred feel. The Farmers Insurance Open marks the first win for KBS in 2014 and we are thrilled to have the support of this player," said Kim Braly, Director of Tour Operations and R&D at KBS.

LPGA Players Reap Rewards with SteelFiber Shafts
As the No. 1 graphite iron shafts on the PGA and Champions Tours, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf are well-known for delivering the power of graphite and the stability of steel. Now, SteelFiber shafts are also growing in popularity on the LPGA Tours around the world thanks largely to additional performance benefits such as vibration dampening, reduced player fatigue and increase swing speed.

Recently, one of the LPGA’s newest and brightest stars, who plays SteelFiber i80 shafts, won the 2013 Rookie of the Year on the LPGA Tour. This week, a young Thai professional won the Taiwan LPGA Royal Open, also playing SteelFiber i80 shafts.

“We are very pleased to see SteelFiber’s popularity incease on the LPGA Tour as well as on the international tours,” says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. “SteelFiber’s innovative technology provides for a very unique combination of performance benefits that players of all skill and ability levels can appreciate. SteelFiber shafts give the stability and consistency that players often have with steel shafts, but they also provide much more than that. SteelFiber shafts also provide greater vibration dampening that reduces player fatigue and increases playability.”

In 2013, players with SteelFiber shafts ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes. In 2013, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour.

SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
SeeMore Wins Again!
Congratulations to the winner of this week's season opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions from Kapalua. In a dramatic setting and an elite field consisting of PGA Tour winners from the past 12 months, the winner came from 2 shots back in the final round and was victorious for the 2nd tournament in a row, his 3rd win in the last 6 PGA Tour events. The winner used the same model SeeMore FGP milled putter that he has now used for all 11 of his official PGA Tour wins over the last 10 years on tour, making him the 4th winningest player over those 10 years. In fact with 10 of the wins coming since 2007, including the 2007 Masters, only 2 other players in the world have won more during that stretch.

The winner finished the tournament at 19 under par 273, and over the event, played on the PGA Tour's largest and most difficult greens, he one putted an incredible 45% of the time. He won the tournament by playing a tremendous all around game, including a masterful short game and clutch putting when it counted. He has earned over $3.9 million in just his last 6 starts, with 3 winners checks over $1 million each.

One of the top closers in the game, the winner is now 38 under par in his last 10 final rounds of tournaments, including the 3 wins.
