Highlighted by a 142-yard eagle two on the final hole, Nippon Shaft earned the victory - as well as the runner-up finish - May 4 at the Championship at Laguna National in Singapore.  With irons equipped with the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 130 S flex steel shafts, the 39-year- old Chilean champion used a pitching wedge to can his final shot to win by a stroke over his 43-year-old Swedish competitor, who used the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex steel shafts in his irons.

It was his second European Tour victory.  The final shot gave the champion a remarkable 28 on the back nine and a 10-under 62 for his final round.  He finished at 22-under par for the tournament.  He also made a birdie 2 on the par 3 17 day four shots back, in seventh place.  Finishing tied for eighth place was the 40-year-old Frenchman, who shot 15-under for the tournament using Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex steel shafts in his irons.

“Nippon Shaft is extremely proud to have the winner, runner-up and another top-10 finisher utilize our steel shafts in their irons,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for the Japanese shaft maker.  “The MODUS³ shafts were designed specifically for touring pros and low-handicap amateurs to help them get the most out of their games.”
