NIPPON SHAFT ADDS RACE TO DUBAI TO FEDEX CUP VICTORY
Eight weeks ago, the 37-year-old Swede used Nippon Shaft in his irons en route to becoming the first European to win both the TOUR Championship and the PGA TOUR’s FedEx Cup.

Now, he has done it again across the pond.

On Sunday, the 6-foot 2-inch native of Gothenburg won the Race to Dubai - the European Tour’s playoff finale - becoming the first player ever to win both the U.S. and European Tour championship playoff series in the same year.

At the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, he used the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex shafts in his irons to finish at 25-under par 263 for the tournament on rounds of 68-64-67-64.  Along the way he hit 68 of 72 greens in regulation – 17 of 18 greens in regulation in each of four rounds – the mark of a player hitting his irons solidly. They were the same shafts he used to win the TOUR Championship on Sept. 22 in Atlanta.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the first player ever to win both the Race to Dubai and the FedEx Cup Playoffs in the same season,” said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.  “Nippon Shaft is proud that arguably the world’s most accomplished player this season utilized the N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex shafts in combination with his tremendous talent and work ethic to achieve such a singular accomplishment.”
